Fraudulent Communications and Messages
Alert: Beware of Fraudulent Communications
Last Updated: 30th August 2024
As a respected organization, “Make in Maharashtra” is occasionally targeted by individuals sending fraudulent emails, text messages, and social media messages claiming to represent our initiative. We want to ensure your safety and security when interacting with us.
Fraudulent messages may use the names of our leadership team with email addresses that do not end in @makeinmaharashtra.in Be cautious of any communication using generic email domains like Yahoo, Gmail, or Hotmail, or similar addresses such as @makeinmaharashtra-jobs.in.

Fake social media profiles, including on LinkedIn, may impersonate our Founder or other key figures to request payments for event participation or other supposed “Make in Maharashtra” activities. These messages often falsely offer memberships, event participation (e.g., “Exclusive Maharashtra Summit”), or employment opportunities, and ask recipients to respond for more information. Some messages may falsely claim to offer awards or grants, requesting personal details or payment information.
Ultimately, these fraudulent communications may ask for sensitive personal information, such as passport or bank details, or demand payment via services like Western Union or MoneyGram, all under the guise of a legitimate “Make in Maharashtra” representative.
Important Points to Remember:
If you receive any suspicious email, text, or social media message claiming to be from “Make in Maharashtra,” please do not respond. Instead, forward the message to itsecurity@makeinmaharashtra.in for verification. If you suspect any message to be fraudulent, delete it immediately. Should you have mistakenly provided personal information or payment details in response to such a message, contact your bank or credit card company immediately to report a potential fraud or identity theft attempt.
“Make in Maharashtra” disclaims all liability for any costs, losses, or damages incurred as a result of fraudulent communications falsely claiming association with our initiative.
